The Darkness Never Wins
Not born in the Light
a long time ago
A girl child was born
Her mother she did not know.
Her father raised her
with one goal
that she would achieve
For this her life
was filled with hate
and torture and rape
It was so much
for such a little one
to endure.
It was so bleak
until the Joanie started school.
For here she found some loving smiles
and hope along the way
It was very confusing to find that every day
that Dick and Jane and Spot and Puff
Were not fucked daily so.
The Little girl lived in 2 very different ways.
Of this she did not know.
And so the Joanie learned her lessons
from Light and darkness Masters.
However soon it was evident
that Joanie was not able to achieve
the here and ever after the Father
Wanted her to be.
The Father then decided
he no longer had a daughter.
He spoke to her when he must
Not when he “oughta”
The lady who had raised the girl
Was so far from the Light.
But when the Father went away
the lady came into sight.
She continued torture and rape
And mind games she did play.
Even then Joanie knew
Someday she’d get away.
So many parts
of Joanie did appear.
She lived a life that people say
How ever did you endure??
Well looking back
The Joanie sees
there were angels along the way
Way back then, yesterday and yes even today
She was never quite like them
Her Light was always Bright
It was not safe to show her Light
BUT it never did go out.
The healing is only starting
The feelings they do appear
The losses are monumental
A happy childhood will not be
BUT
Now she knows the story
And of one thing she is clear
She is a child of God
and never must she fear
because when faced with darkness and the past
a hand is always extended
It may not be an end to pain
BUT a hand will be extended
The job now that the Joanie has
is to accept the hand she sees,
To break the thinking never will there be.
There is joy
this she must believe
And so the pieces are being healed
A little more each day
There is no doubt
That God is working in her life
In everyway.
The reason that I share this tale
Is not to shock you so
But to offer hope and comfort as you go.
The journey and the healing
We believe will still be long
But now we understand
that we will always have a song.
A song of hope, a song of joy,
A song to rid the pain
A song no longer wondering why us
A song we can reclaim.
For maybe her life was not the way the little girl wanted
BUT
Looking back
She sees she never was the one who was bad,
The one whose fault they said
She understands that they were sick
and not right in the head.
This is said not to excuse them
But help the little ones to see
That now it is safe
for the authentic Joanie to be.
