Our
dream
Each year June 26 is recognized
by the United Nations and memorialized around the world by human
rights activists as the United Nations International Day in
Support of Victims of Torture.
On June 26,
1987, the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other
Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment became international
law.
Our dream is
to have acts of torture by "non-state actors"—ritual
abuse-torture—recognized by the UN as torture … to forever break
the silence … to make a better world for children & for
those who have been victimized!

GRASSROOTS ART:
TELLING THE STORY
MAKING A VISUAL IMPACT
It is important, we believe, to present the visual
artifactual works of grassroots art—drawings, poems, stories, for
instance—artifacts representative of the ritual abuse-torture endured
by persons who have been so victimized. Visual works are a vital
teaching media to help non-ritual abuse-torture victims learn about
the lived reality and the horror of ritual abuse-torture and cruel,
inhuman, and degrading acts RAT perpetrators inflict.
ARTIFACTUAL TESTIMONIES: VOICES
OF COURAGE!
There were over 400 artifactual
testimonies submitted to us. Placing all submissions on our website
would fill our website space. The fairest option to persons who
consented to share their work on our website is to place one piece
of artifactual testimony from each person—one poem, letter, drawing,
photograph, painting, or short story.
We hope all persons who contributed are especially proud of their
courage to speak and to contribute to the work of educating the
global civil society about ritual abuse-torture. The works listed
below contributed to the recommendation that: “ritual
abuse-torture be identified as an emerging human rights violation
and as a newly recognized form of torture that is inflicted by ‘non-state
actors’.” These efforts will validate persons who have survived
and will lead the way to preventing children of the future from
enduring the horrors of the human rights violations and torture
perpetrators of ritual abuse-torture inflict.
It is with pride we present the
following five categories of “Artifactual Testimonies: Voices of
Courage!”

Church Presentation in Torrington, Connecticut
WELL-KNOWN RESEARCHER on ritual
abuse-torture to speak in Torrington. Jeanne Sarson, R.N., MED from
Nova Scotia, Canada, will be speaking on "Ritual Abuse-Torture
as a Human Rights Violation" at the United Nations on March
8 as part of the 48th Commission on the Status of Women and she
will be in Torrington on Sunday, March 7 at 1 p.m. speaking at Unity
at the Foothills, 43 Daycoeton Place, Torrington. Ritual abuse-torture
is a phrase used to describe victims, almost exclusively women and
children, who are physically, sexually, mentally, emotionally and/or
spiritually abused and tortured in small "family" groups.
This type of abuse is often perpetrated in a ritual setting. Sarson
has spent 11 years working with women who have broken away from
these sadistic, pedophilic groups-usually at risk to their lives-and
are seeking recovery to wholeness. Her talk will address the special
needs of women and children who have experienced ritual abuse-torture,
and what can be done to stop this human rights violation that is
happening in all communities in America. The talk is free and open
to the public. Seating is limited so reservations are encouraged.
(Call 860-459-8477) Due to the graphic and disturbing subject matter,
parental discretion is advised. For more information or to schedule
an interview, contact Rev. Bonny Gilbert Ashe at (860) 459-8477.
